First Communion
“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.” Matthew 26:26-27Preparation for First Communion begins after children have received the sacrament of reconciliation. Children will participate in parent/child learning centers, complete family-led faith materials, and attend Faith Formation classes on Mondays or attend Rochester Catholic Schools. Throughout the year, we encourage families to engage in parish service projects, Stations of the Cross, Lenten activities, prayer, adoration and learning centers for the entire family. First Communion takes place during the Easter season.
