The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Helping friends in need with time, talent, and treasure.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a group of men and women (Vincentians) from Church of the Resurrection who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. Pairs of Vincentians meet with our friends in need in their homes. Their needs are brought back to a conference meeting where the group discusses how to be of assistance. Blessed with generous support from our parish and parishioners, SVdP was able to provide $58,000 this past year to aid our friends in need with rent, utility expenses, gas vouchers, food, and clothing.
St. Vincent DePaul has a virtual warehouse where items can be listed, with contact information, to be donated to homes in need. Contact Kathy with items you are willing to donate, she will get them listed, and you may be contacted for the items you wish to donate. They do not have a storage area.
There is a 2nd collection taken when there is a 5th Sunday in the month. 100% of dollar donations go directly to our friends in need. Daily we see the face of God in our friends that we visit. They are struggling and have been through unspeakable hardships.
